Ronnie was raised in Church from an early age, where he attended Sunday School to Youth programmes. His mother, Mrs Caroline Mulaudzi inspired him to love music. She was a soprano in two choirs in the Church back in Venda. As a child Ronnie aspired to be like his mom and to one day be on the same stage in Church. And so one youth conference when he was 13 years old, they did a talent evening and he signed up for singing. As nervous as he was, on that stage he picked up the mic and went on to sing “Centre of My Joy” the Ron Kenoly version, facing away from the audience, eyes tightly shut all the way through the performance. Interestingly, he could hear that the audience seemed to be enjoying the performance, but he was too scared to open his eyes and look at them. To his shock, at the end of the performance, there was a full house round of applause! The Choir director at the time immediately told his mother that he would be taking him to join the choir. It was the beginning of a complex and exciting love-relationship for music, in particular gospel. From the time he joined the choir at 13 years old, he moved on to become part of the praise and worship team all the way through high school. When he got to varsity in 2003, Ronnie joined the student club Christian Action Fellowship where he became part of the worship team and in final year the choir director. He has been part of worship teams for various churches since he arrived in Joburg in 2003.
Ronnie finally, launched his professional music career in 2015 at the World of Yamaha, where he performed along-side his long-time friend Choko. The concert, named, the Night of African Worship was a full house with about 200 people in attendance. From that concert Ronnie went on to release the single, Lord I Love You in Feb 2016. After the single, the EP album called “Nne Ndi Lila” which had 4 tracks was subsequently released. In 2018 Ronnie, felt it was time to record and release his debut full album made up of 14 tracks entitled “A Call to Love”. The album went on to win two awards in 2019, the first being the Crown Gospel Music award for best single and the Tshivenda Music Awards for Best Newcomer of the year. Ronnie is very grateful to his friends because, he launched his professional music career after he was encouraged by the feedback from people in church who would see him ministering on Sundays, week in, week out. Blessed by his ministry of worship, people often asked if he had an album and where they could find his music. Although sceptical initially to venture out professionally into music, however after a lot convincing from two of his close friends, Mzi and Bridget the 2015 launch was done with great success and that’s how the journey began.
